Plaza Mayor of Salamanca
Our group on Salamanca's Rúa Mayor

Join Susie in Salamanca for a relaxed five-day escape in one of Spain’s most beautiful and historic cities. This isn’t a traditional tour. It’s a chance to slow down, enjoy beautiful places and good food, and share meaningful moments with a welcoming group of like-minded women.

We’ll stay four nights at a carefully selected four-star hotel in the historic centre, and explore the city with a local guide, visit two traditional villages, enjoy long meals together and take part in a Spanish cooking workshop, with plenty of free time to wander and experience Salamanca at your own pace.

A chance to experience Spain more meaningfully through local culture, shared moments, great food and genuine connection.

MEET SUSIE

“This trip is an opportunity to experience the real Spain together, in a more personal way.”

Hi, I’m Susie. I’ve been sharing my life in Spain for the past few years, and this trip is a chance to experience the real Spain together, slowing down, enjoying beautiful places and good food, and sharing meaningful moments with a welcoming group of like-minded women.

It isn’t about rushing from one sight to another. Over five days in Salamanca we’ll explore the city, taste its food, visit traditional villages nearby and simply enjoy being there, as a small, easy-going community of women travelling together. You can follow more of my life in Spain on @susie_in_spain.

FAQ

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely, most people will be. The whole trip is designed for solo travellers, with shared meals and relaxed group moments that make it easy to connect from the moment you arrive. You’ll never feel like the odd one out. If you’re coming on your own, you’ll have a single room to yourself, and if you’re travelling with a friend the two of you can share a twin together at the shared rate.

Where will we stay?

Home for four nights is a carefully selected four-star hotel in Salamanca, chosen for its comfort and central location. Please note that the specific hotel can’t be guaranteed: accommodation is subject to availability, and depending on availability we may need to move your booking to a different four-star hotel of a similar standard, even after you’ve booked. Whatever happens, we’ll always keep you somewhere comfortable and central.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

Not at all. The trip is open to both Spanish and English speakers, and everything is hosted so that both languages feel equally welcome. Susie speaks both, so you’ll always be looked after, whatever your level.

How much walking is involved?

This is a relaxed, slow-paced trip. There’s a gentle guided walk through Salamanca and some strolling around the villages on cobbled streets, but nothing strenuous, and plenty of time to sit, rest and take it all in. Comfortable shoes are all you really need.

How do I get to Salamanca?

Travel to and from Salamanca isn’t included, so you’re free to plan the route that suits you. Most travellers fly into Madrid and take the direct high-speed train or a bus to Salamanca (around 1.5 to 2.5 hours). Once you’ve booked, we’re happy to point you in the right direction.

What are the price options?

There are three options: €749 without accommodation, if you’d prefer to arrange your own stay in Salamanca and join us for everything else; €949 per person if you’re coming with a friend and the two of you share a twin room together; or €1,149 for a single room of your own. The shared rate is only for two travellers booking together and sharing, so if you’re coming on your own the single room is the option for you. Rooms are limited, so it helps to tell us early what you’d prefer.

What happens after I book?

A 30% deposit secures your place, with the balance due 30 days before the trip. After booking you’ll receive a confirmation and, closer to the date, all the practical details you need to arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy Salamanca.

Terms & Conditions

A 30% deposit is required to secure your spot. Full payment is due 30 days before the trip start date. Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance receive a full refund minus the deposit. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable. Knowmad Tribe reserves the right to modify the itinerary due to weather or safety conditions.
